As of today, they are still broken. I'm also stuck with a clone and a ship in deep Gurista space and am slightly annoyed by it. Petitions so far have been no help (and yes, they've been nice and polite; much more polite than I am on the forums).
It would be very, very nice to get some sort of official word on the whole thing.

Originally by: Jason1138 they've been broken since tyrannis and no one at CCP seems to care. i would just abandon it
sorry
Too stubborn, at least in the short term.
What's it going to take to get these ****ers working again? I mean, this is no emoragequit moment as I've plenty to do, but dedicating 24 hours to a useless clone really does suck.
So what's it going to be, CCP? Fix them or abandon them?

Originally by: Korin DoomsDay I hate to break it to you but the GMs do not fix the game, they are only customer service. Blaming them for something that is broken is silly.
Obviously, but we can't interface with the people who fix the game directly and we kind of expect GMs to advocate for players on at least some level. The fact that basically the sum total of the feedback we've gotten on this is that it's a "known issue" is about as frustrating as getting no response at all.
Hell, if I were a content designer and players couldn't use my content I'd be annoyed too.
Originally by: Korin DoomsDay However my friend completed the arc with no problems, I couldn't though. It appears that there is a standing requirement on all the agents in the arc now, and the "brokenness" is the fact you don't have enough standing with all the agents to get through the entire arc. I think this will be fixed in the next patch so that this new standing requirement is taken out, that's what I was told anyway.
I thought part of the point of pirate arcs was to repair your standings with those factions. Requiring standings and then granting a major boost to the same at the end isn't just circular, it's pointless.
I guess I'm just not eager enough to grind Guristas missions for little to no compensation just so I can continue running more Guristas missions for awhile and then get a Worm and have the entire Caldari state even more ****ed at me than they already are -- or would be without the initial grind. Call me crazy....
(Oh, and yes, I'm doing what I can to keep this thread bumped. In case you were wondering.)

Nearly slipped there. Still on the first page. Barely.

Originally by: Swift Namida The game is broken, period.
Well, yeah. Every complex set of code is broken to a greater or lesser extent. Having one that also has to interface with human beings is an amazing pain in the ass I don't even want to think about.
But chances are they'll fix it sooner or later. I'm just annoyed that:
- They didn't let us know that they'd broken things somehow
- They won't admit to even trying to fix it other than "being aware" of the problem
- They keep talking about new content like it's a huge gift to players even though many of them (not including myself, btw) just want the old content to work
Basically, we know it's broken and can't do what we want to do. They know it's broken, acknowledge it, but more or less don't even admit to working on it in any serious way.
That is the complaint I have.
I have no expectation of it being easy or simply or whatnot, but -- well, I expect existing content to work at a relatively decent level before new content takes over labor allocation from fixing problems. And that includes things like epic arcs that CCP broke itself especially.

Originally by: Radiant Infinity Well, we know there will be a minor patch come Tuesday (skill point pool, new ship). Here's to hoping they'll take the opportunity to fix the arcs as well.
The point being this isn't the first "next patch" this has been alluded to. As nice as it would be, there's no way I'm holding my breath on this one.

Originally by: Frug It's a shame to see them ignoring this broken feature for so long after they supposedly put a bunch of work into it and hyped it up when it came out.
Like I said before, if I were a content developer, I'd be ****ed. Yay for wasted work, etc.
I'm suddenly tempted to start a betting pool as to whether the existing arcs are fixed before new ones come out....

Originally by: Swift Namida Other than a single cryptic post from a pilot, I see no evidence that they are fixing it, or even discussing a fix.
So, the patch notes are not enough for you?
No, actually. Intention and action are unfortunately different things.
However, I will confirm that at least the Guristas arc is in fine working order and that I have been duly podded out of it for being stupid and missioning drunk in null sec.
But to CCP, especially sinced I *****ed so much: thank you for fixing this. It has made EVE a more entertaining world.
